This is very relatable. I am in the constant refresh stage seeing “two views” staring back at me from my first full post (both of which me) and I am wondering if theres space for me here. So this post was a great reminder of why I showed up in the first place. Thank you for this!

I’m so new and I don’t know what I’m doing here to be absolutely honest.

I just thought it would be useful to share what’s happened this week.

I hope there is space for you here Shae, it feels kind of like there is space for everyone…in some way, shape or form here?

We just need to have courage to keep showing up, sharing our truth all the way 🌿💓

I love your approach, which resonates so much with mine. It honestly fills my heart with joy every time I read a post of someone who, in one way or another, is living in a similar situation or has similar thoughts. It makes me feel less alone (I’m also super new here), it shows to me that there’s always someone out there living a similar experience. It also gives me the motivation, the joy, the determination to focus on the main reason why I’ve decided to try Substack: share my true voice, my experience, my knowledge, embracing who I truly am with the trust and belief that this is what I am supposed to do to shine my light and consequently help people in the way I’m meant to. So nice to connect and follow your journey 💫

Oh Martina! I’m so happy to have you here, and that we’re on the same journey together. Thank you for your beautiful words. We can boost one another along the way and share in the wins and challenges. I just want to keep it real this time. No striving or jumping through hoops, only the expression of my truth🌿

💚 I’m already there! Listening to the birds and watching dusk slowly set in…it’s the stuff of dreams at this time of year isn’t it!

This was so well-written and laid out. Plus I love your insight. Imagine looking back at this post in maybe 6 months and seeing how much you've grown. Very refreshing <3

Thank you! Yes that’s what I was thinking. That I will capture the story through personal experience and maybe it will help someone 🌿

Beautiful, I love your approach. Thank you for sharing. All meaningful reminders to create at a loved pace.

I’ve also seen all the substack growth hacking content and seen older substackers moaning about it, reminding everyone what this platform is about, so I’m glad there is a strong community essence. Maybe just a trend that will roll away as people get used to being here. I hope so.

Thank you Holly! I just thought it was good not to overthink it and share from the messy “figuring-it-out”stage. It might be helpful to someone at some point, since we all have to start somewhere 🌿

It’s reassuring to know that so many of us just want to make this about honouring our energy and voice, and not chasing stats.

Thank you for this. I wrote my first post yesterday—my first piece of writing ever put out there for public consumption. And although I went into this thinking that likes, comments, etc. wouldn’t matter, I’ve found myself falling into the trap of checking and re-checking— like there’s that part of me that needs the external validation that my words matter. After reading your post, I’m wondering if this is just a part of the process. I’m hoping it gets easier!

Keep going Tawynea! It’s part of the process I’m sure. If you can release attachment to the outcome it will be easier though. I think some posts are for others, and some are just for yourself. That’s ok 🌿

I’ll come on over now and share some love for your words ☺️

I really love this post. I relate to 100% of it. It’s hard to see these “how to grow” posts and wonder why you’re not growing but truthfully finding your voice and rhythm here IS the victory right now. This is a beautiful share!

Thank you Kayla! I wasn’t going to share since that imposter syndrome is noisy, but then I thought…what if someone asks me how to get started and I can actually be of some use?

If I document the process as I go, then I’ll have somewhere practical to sign post them to that’s written real time while I’m in the messy bit.

Plus it will be nice for my own reflection on what’s filling my cup here ☺️

This is lovely writing, really resonated with me. I am new here too and just exploring what this can be for me…

What a lovely approach! I have to remind myself too to not search for the validation but write most and foremost for me. To slightly ignore the "niching down and teaching someone 3 steps behind me". It's not what I want to read, or desire to write.

Thank you for sharing, this is beautiful. I am also new here and I'm not in a place where I can be throwing myself hard into things due to chronic illness. I've definitely fallen victim to the constant stats checking already too. However, this was a lovely reminder that I am here to create, express and learn, not to grow subscribers. A lovely post, I look forward to reading more.
